If you are heading to Tahoe in winter, before you come up you may want to visit one of our favorite shops Tails by the Lake’s website www.tailsbythelake.com and get your buddy a nice warm jacket. This is a great store and when ever we have time to kill we go and wander around, they have so many unique items as well as quality jackets, collars and a yummy dog bakery. During July & August bring your pup to enjoy some free dog ice-cream during the Yappy Hour on Friday nights. Summer: The Back Country has stores in Tahoe City's and Truckee. They are largest bicycle store in the area, offering rentals, sales and repairs. You can park at our store and hop on the bike path from there. They offer free maps of the paths and trails, and are open every day from 8:30 to 6pm. The Truckee store is where you'll find a comprehensive climbing and backpacking department, along with great clothing from Patagonia, Marmot, Prana and more. The Tahoe City store has a cafe with icecream and sandwiches to help you fuel up for your ride! |
