This adorable A frame was built in the 60’s and newly decorated with the 60’s in mind. The Mad Men cabin has all the retro vibes of that era from the sleek furniture to the original 60’s ski movie posters. Have a martini from the antique shaker and martini glasses and enjoy the view from the deck or the mod living room.
The Mad Men Cabin is a unique North Tahoe Vacation Rental home on a private road backing up to 400 square miles of forest. Centrally located to Tahoe City and the stunning shores of Lake Tahoe, this three bedroom Mad Men stylized Tahoe cabin is a perfect getaway for family and friends. You will love the retro 60’s furnishings, wood stove, well-equipped kitchen and secluded front and back porch areas. This peaceful location is so relaxing, it feels like there are no other people around--just like Don Draper would prefer.
This North Shore cabin is located on a private road that backs up to 400 square miles of pristine forest for hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. It is a 5-minute walk to the lake and a 5-minute drive to Tahoe City with restaurants, bars, cafes, and even an organic grocery store. The Mad Men cabin is centrally located to all of the major ski areas of North Lake Tahoe (Incline, Homewood, Mt. Rose, Northstar, Squaw Valley, and Alpine Meadows). Tahoe City Cross Country Ski Area with it’s 65 kilometer trail network is right out the front door.
The living room has comfortable seating, a 42” flat screen TV with DVD, cable TV, HBO and Showtime, Blue Ray player, and a surround theater system with ipod docking station and CD player. The wood stove puts out plenty BTUs of heat and the wood is provided. The mod dining room table has 6 comfortable chairs and the breakfast bar seats an additional two.
The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for making family-style dinners or tasty appetizers to share out on the quiet deck overlooking the forest. This cabin is fantastic for entertaining with its expansive great room (kitchen, dinning room and living room are all interconnected) and its well-stocked glassware.
On the ground level there is a bedroom with one double bed and small TV and a full bathroom. Upstairs are two large bedrooms: one with two doubles and the other with a King bed or two twins. The upstairs bedrooms have lovely private forest views. There is a half bath on this level.
Tahoe City is only a few miles away with its great restaurants, shopping and Common's Beach. The shores of Carnelian Bay lie directly below the Mad Men cabin with a robust variety of water sports from boating to kayaking to stand-up paddle boarding (SUP).

Availability and Booking
Cleaning Fee: $155
Transient Occupancy Tax: 10% charged on rent, cleaning, and dog fees
Dog Fee: $40/dog/stay
There are some periods where there is a one week minimum with an advance booking but we will try hard to fit any length bookings in so please give us a call.
Check in time is 3:00PM and check out time is 10:00AM, if there is an opening before or after your stay we will try to accommodate any requests for changing these times, but these must be approved by the office. If the house is booked directly after your stay the check out time is very important because we need the time to prepare the home for our new guests.
