Get Your Own Christmas Tree
Celebrate Christmas the Lake Tahoe way! It's a tradition for many families around here to get their very own pine tree. Before you venture into the woods and start chopping, however, there are some things you need to do. First, you'll need to get a permit from the Forest Service. They cost $10 each, and there is a limit of two per family. For guests of Tahoe Truckee Properties, the closest office will be the Incline Village Forest Service. Be sure to call ahead to make sure there are still permits available. Once you've gotten your permit, the office will give you a list of designated cutting areas. From there, you're free to cut down your tree! Just remember to bring water, a handsaw, a flashlight, a first aid kit (just in case), and plenty of help!
