*Tahoe is a beautiful and fun place to visit, but occasionally this area can be affected by extreme weather events. While we never want things like icy roads, road closures, or smoke from wildfires to negatively impact our guests, it can happen. We ask travelers to plan their vacation appropriately for the rural mountain climate and encourage guests to research all travel insurance options, as Tahoe Moon Properties cannot provide refunds for things outside of our control.
The Nightingale Lake-view Cabin captures the essence and beauty of Tahoe from the comfort of the living room. The home was built with Tahoe charm in mind, with lofty knotty pine ceilings and floor to ceiling windows to take in the view. The property has a gorgeous lake view to be enjoyed all year round and a spacious deck to add to the living space in the warmer months. This cabin is conveniently located about 5 minutes from Tahoe City and about 10 minutes from Kings Beach. It is just a short ride to some of the best skiing in Tahoe and is conveniently located close to some great scenic hiking.
When you enter the property you are greeted with a mudroom and a conveniently located laundry. Downstairs you will find a half bath, bedroom, and the common living area. The first bedroom, located to the left of the entrance is furnished with a queen bed. If you walk further into the home you will find the kitchen, which is adjacent to the living and dining area, where you can enjoy the unobstructed view of the lake and forest. The living space is comfortably furnished with a couch and a couple of comfy chairs. There are open circular stairs to access the other sleeping areas. Upstairs is one bedroom with a California king bed. There is also a landing area open to the living space that is furnished with a small twin bed for another sleeping area.
The property is located in a nice quiet neighborhood and although there are neighbors, the house is set back off of the street to take advantage of the Tahoe serenity. The property was mindfully constructed to make the most of the lake view. This cabin is opportunely located just a short distance from Tahoe City, where you have the conveniences of shops, restaurants and Commons Beach. Even closer to the property are beaches in the Lake Forest area. There is also access to trails for hiking and mountain biking just up the street. This is a convenient location in the winter months and places you roughly in equal distance from Squaw/Alpine and Northstar for some world-class skiing and riding. If you are not much of a downhill enthusiast, you are in close proximity to the Nordic Center for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. This property allows for the best of both worlds - you have the serene and peaceful character of the home, coupled with a convenient location to enjoy the services of Tahoe City.
THINGS TO NOTE:
-Additional Fees include cleaning fee, administration fee, and local Transient Occupancy Tax.
-Check out time is 10 AM.
-This is a dog-friendly house but in order to bring a dog, you must pay a $70 dog fee per dog, 2 dog maximum. If you bring a dog without paying the dog fee, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.
-Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.

IMPORTANT:
On March 11th 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:
•Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound are to be used at any time.
•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
•Parking is limited to the following number of spaces: 2
POLICIES & DISCLOSURES
1. 2021 Update: Due to Extreme Fire Danger – The use of ANY outdoor firepit or fireplace is strictly prohibited at any of our rental properties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe from wildfires.
2.As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.
3.By local laws we have to charge a 12% occupancy tax (10% TOT tax + 2% TBID tax) with every booking. TBID, is placed on lodging, retail, restaurant and recreation businesses in North Lake Tahoe to raise money for visitor services, business support and advocacy, economic development, tourism mitigation and transportation services.
