I absolutely loved this property! It is completely brand new and redone, and they did everything to perfection. The house is super clean, colorful, comfortable, spacious and fun. They really paid attention to the details - from the fantastic art, to the cozy furnishings, to the color and cheeriness of each and every room. Our two families (with kids) stayed for several nights and had plenty of room and space. We were so comfortable we wanted to stay longer. The kids especially enjoyed playing in the snow in the large, fenced in backyard. This was a godsend - snow forts and snowball fights galore (i.e., hours outside). The proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants is unbeatable. We were able to walk to Whitecaps Pizza (great) to pick up our order and bring home - no biggie even in the middle of winter. The property manager was friendly and responsive. All around this was a fantastic trip, and we can't wait to book again. I bet it is even better in the summer with its ideal location, in close proximity to the lake. We will be back for that!
The home is beautiful and the neighborhood is charming. We felt at ease in the privacy and comfort of the home. Our dog loved it too! The home is quiet, warm (for the winter), spacious, comfortable and well stocked. The mud room helped a great deal as well during our stay when it snowed a ton. We got quite lucky in that we could charge our electric car at the bottom of the driveway by plugging it into the end of a string of lights. Given several feet of snowfall over the course of just a few days, we stayed put rather than venturing out, which posed quite a challenge given that electric car batteries suffer from the cold. But that little bit of electricity truly saved our experience (otherwise we'd have lost charge and likely been stuck). It required a little bit of creativity to solve - we called the property managers, they called the maintenance worker, and then we were relayed information that gave us the confidence to find the outlet and adjust the setting so we could charge. In short, we are very grateful for the flexibility afforded to us that allowed us to stay put for as long as we did. We also lost power (all of Tahoe did) on New Year's Eve, which wasn't much fun - unrelated to the event described above. But that's life, and we have learned in such places to roll with the punches. Lastly, the driveway did prove quite a challenge. You truly must have snow tires and/or chains to get out, or do what we did and spend several hours hacking away at the ice-covered driveway with a plastic shovel (provided, thankfully) until we uncovered the bare ground for the tiniest bit of traction. Our situation was unique, granted, in that it snowed several feet in a matter of a few days. And the driveway did get plowed, thankfully. But the steep and slightly awkward pitch of the driveway does pose a serious challenge to those looking to relax during a snowstorm. We lost a lot of time and stress to the worries of an electric car with all-wheel drive on a steep driveway grade, until at last we crept out and hit the road in the nick of time before the next storm broke. Aside from that, however, we loved our stay. The home is charming and can't be beat. We loved it, and you'll love it too!
