Holiday Stress? You Are Not Alone!

Holiday Stress? You Are Not Alone!

Despite its long-sung reputation as “the most wonderful time of the year,” the holiday season is easily one of the most stressful times of the year (maybe we have a hit new song here). Between work, family, friends, presents, planning, expectations, and money to worry about how is one supposed to enjoy this season?  A recent Virgin Pulse study of more than 1,000 full-time employees in the United States and Canada found that 70 percent of people are feeling significantly more stressed as the year reaches its end, affecting their work productivity, health and happiness. If you are like us you have checklists, budgets, and sugar plums dancing in your head, and on top of that the Johnson’s next door just posted the perfect family photo (oops forgot to add that to the list). People seem to be more concerned with proving to the rest of the world that they’re having the time of their lives than actually enjoying themselves. The 27 flawless “night out” pictures are more important than the night itself. If a girl purchases a new dress, it’s more likely for a new Facebook profile photo than an actual party.

Here at Tahoe Moon Properties, we want you to know you are not alone! Everyone may be posting about their perfect Christmas Tree, and flawless DIY holiday projects, but not us. We know that we are not perfect, and neither is our holidays. The stress of having everything go according to plan is exhausting! So, all month long we will be posting our #Christmasfails to either give you a laugh or let you know you are not alone. We will also be posting some Christmas Tahoe tips for those who live here, or are coming to visit. We will help with gift ideas (like the amazing sweatshirt Jill is rocking above), fun activities, holiday decorations, and of course provide you with the best stress reliever, laughter. I think we all feel the need for a vacation after the holidays so join in and tell us why you need a vacation this Christmas with tagging us on social media #ineedavacationtmp and #helpmetmp because life is not perfect, and we are okay with that!

To kick it off, my family and I thought it would be the perfect Christmas bonding experience to cut down our own Christmas tree last year, but instead of having a Brady Bunch moment, we had our own Griswold Christmas experience. Hey at least we tried!
